Speak with Grace :-)

Vs. 6 Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it…  Vs.11 One who loves a pure heart and who speaks with grace will have the king for a friend. (‭Proverbs‬ ‭22‬:‭6, 11‬ NIV)

I was watching my son interact with his peers today and it occurred to me (as it has many times) that a lot of what he says sounds an awful lot like my husband and I. After observing all this playground banter today, I came home wanting to encourage you to be concious of how you talk to one another in your home. We of course are not perfect and need to do the same.  So much of what we say and do as parents becomes a part of our children. So speak life and love and grace and encouragement. When you slip up… be willing to admit it.

Luckily, today was a day when my son let his light shine. 🙂

Be the Light

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” (‭Matthew‬ ‭5‬:‭14-16‬ NIV)

How can you  be the light today? I’m not talking about the obvious stuff. I’m talking about the little unexpected things… Smile at someone who isn’t expecting it today. I love to make eye contact with a person at a red light or stop sign and just smile at them. Most of the time they do a double take and think for a second before they smile back.  Try it! I bet it puts a little light into their day and maybe, just maybe, yours too.

Homeschooling? Me?

Did you ever feel like God really wanted you to do something new but when it came right down to it you were a little scared to follow through because of that “what if” thought we all get? I was reminded yesterday that God is faithful.

Starting something new like homeschooling can be overwhelming… Really overwhelming. As I sat and visited with some women that God has placed in my life I felt it… His faithfulness. As I’m learning and growing I’ll share more about our new journey into homeschooling. Hopefully, you will be able to learn and grow with me. The first thing I’ve learned is to find some mentors. You’re not alone. Find a community of families that can share their experiences with you and learn from them.

Just do it!

So, I’m sitting in a snug little coffee shop thinking the same thought I’ve been having for days “maybe I’ll start a blog”.  Why? Just because. Not because I have anything monumental to say but maybe, just maybe, I can inspire someone. So here it goes…

I’m Randi:). Jesus freak, wife , mom, sister, aunt and many other things. I want to inspire people to have faith, do something outside the box, and maybe look at life a little differently. Do something today to make someone smile!

“Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”  Matthew 17:20

What is your ‘mountain’ today? Go make it move!
